International Literacy Day

UNESCO proclaimed International Literacy Day in 1967 with the aim to highlight the significance of literacy and raise awareness and concern for literacy problems in our communities. According to UNESCO, there are more than 700 million adults and 600 million children and adolescents lacking basic literacy skills or not achieving minimum proficiency levels in reading and mathematics.

Cultural Infusion works with a range of talented and educational multicultural presenters to create an array of storytelling programs for students. South Australian students can learn Roma culture through musical and theatrical performance in A Nomadic Journey. Available in Victoria, Spirit of Italia shares a story of challenges faced by Italian immigrants in Australia while Vive La France is a theatre performance of French culture featuring music, dance, and comedy.
