Swedish Dance and Culture

Immerse students in the rich cultural traditions of Sweden with this engaging and interactive workshop, available for all age groups. Led by Rebecca, an accomplished Nyckelharpa player, the workshop celebrates Swedish heritage through music, dance, and storytelling. Participants will explore iconic Swedish folk music, including songs like the playful ‘Små Grodorna’ (The Small Frogs) and lively traditional dances such as the Polska and Halling.

The program invites participants to sing, dance, and stomp along while learning about Swedish instruments like the Nyckelharpa, as well as the cultural significance of traditions such as Midsummer. Tailored to suit the age group, this workshop can engage younger children through simple songs and circle dances or offer deeper insights into Swedish folk music for older audiences.
