Indonesian Culture for a Day offers an immersive experience exploring Indonesia’s rich traditions, history, and arts. Led by our touring Indonesian shadow puppeteer, Sumardi, who has travelled all the way from Java to tour Australia, the day begins with an introduction to Indonesia’s diverse heritage, followed by a Q&A session. Students will then take part in a hands-on workshop exploring traditional costumes and language before learning the movements and cultural significance of Indonesian dance. To conclude, they will showcase their new skills in a dance presentation, celebrating their learning and connection to Indonesian culture.
