Children’s Day (Japan)

Children’s Day in Japan is a national holiday that has been celebrated for decades and highlights the importance of creativity, innocence and fun during childhood. It acknowledges the unique nature of children and cultivates their individuality. A custom reflecting the tenacity of children is to have koinobori (carp fish) flags and kites on display outside of homes to symbolise the strength, determination and bravery of the carp fish swimming upstream.

To honour the essence of this day, we have various immersive programs available that celebrate authentic Japanese culture:

Japanese Calligraphy (VIC)
Japanese Ink Painting (VIC)
Taiko Drumming (VIC, NSW, QLD)

In addition, our Japanese Infusion program (NSW) introduces students of all ages to Japanese culture through a mixture of song and dance, storytelling and art.
