Lantern Festival
Most celebrated in China, the Lantern Festival, also called Shangyuan festival, marks the final day of the traditional Chinese New Year celebrations. With the symbolic colour of red, families seek for good fortune and happiness for the year to come. During the Lantern Festival, children carry paper lanterns through the night – nowadays, often shaped like animals. These lanterns may have riddles on them for participants to solve.
To honour the essence of this festival, we have various immersive programs available to celebrate authentic Chinese culture:
• Chinese Lion Dance (VIC, QLD, NSW, ACT, WA)
• Chinese Martial Arts (VIC, QLD, NSW, ACT, WA)
• Chinese Calligraphy & Brush Ink Painting (NSW)
• Chinese Classical Dance (VIC, NSW, SA, WA)
