Fans are an integral part of Chinese lifestyle. Chinese fans have evolved over the years from daily accessories used to stay cool on hot summer days, to important artefacts in Chinese history and culture.
From the 10th century on, fan painting blossomed into an art form of its own. Writers and artists of ancient China tended to adorn objects they loved with their calligraphy and paintings.
In this Chinese Fan Painting workshop, participants will have the opportunity children get to decorate paper panels of the folding fan, providing which provides a blank canvas to express their creativity.
