Passover

Passover (or Pesach) is an eight-day Jewish festival celebrated in spring to commemorate the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. It takes place from the 22nd to the 30th of the Hebrew month of Nisan, which generally corresponds to April in the Gregorian calendar. Rituals include the Seder, a ritual meal with the reading of the Haggadah, consumption of matzah (unleavened bread) and bitter herbs (maror), and abstention from leavened foods (hametz). It’s a celebration rich in symbolism and spiritual significance, highlighting themes of freedom, redemption and the unity of family and community.
