Independence Day (Greece)

This public holiday in Greece and Cyprus celebrates the War of Greek Independence in 1821. On this day, towns and villages who are celebrating hold a school flag parade, where school children march in traditional costumes and carry national flags. There is also an armed forces parade in Athens, the capital city of Greece.

To celebrate this day, Cultural Infusion offers Opa! Greek Culture and Dance where students can explore Greek culture through music, dance and mythology.
